No change in term limits is proposed.The original By-laws state:Elections will be held at the last assembly of players (tournament, banquet, etc) for the season. Elections will be held by secret ballot. A member must be present to cast a ballot.The E-board proposed that we move the Banquet and Elections to the Beginning of each Fall Season, as you can see this is a minor change, it will not only possibly attract more shooters to the event but also allow the E-Board to negotiate a much more competitive rate for our awards offerings. In the past we have been forced to RUSH to the vendors in the last minute to get our orders placed for shipping and delivery in June each year. This creates a lack of control of the costs we incur for the procurement of our materials. While we had a record turnout at this past meeting allowing us to even address this mater for Quorum we need one representative of as many teams as possible to help us pass the change. The change would read as follows:Proposed Change to By-laws:Elections will be held at the Captains Kit/LOD/Awards Banquet for each Fall Season. Elections will be held by secret ballot. A member must be present to cast a ballot.This is a pretty simple process we need 12 voting members 1 vote per team, to make this no nonsense change a reality. Please make an effort to join us at Madigans Thursday Feb 23 at 8PM to cast this important vote! 01.20.12 Reminder! For the last 3 seasons I have been your Secretary, a season before that I was your webmaster and FaceBook admin. I have looked deeply into my crystal ball and cannot honestly tell you that I can continue to be your Secretary after my term this year is up. As such I will not be seeking re-election for the position of Secretary for the upcoming elections. I am posting this now so that anyone interested in taking on, (in my opinion) ,the sole most demanding role of all the Eboard, has time to ask Me what the role requires. This decision of course does not come lightly or without regret. I will of course stay on as your Webmaster, unless the newly elected Eboard team sees fit to make a change in services. I sincerely hope a qualified candidate will make themselves available to fill this role. I am not beyond considering other roles within the WDL and will assess those opportunities as they are presented.I sincerely wish to let you know it has been my honor, and privilege to bring credibility back to this crucial role in our continued love of our sport!Best regards, - Jerry Buote

Paul for Pres Election Bio Paul O'Connell for PresidentMay 6th 2010Here is my pitch: I have been involved with the Worcester Dart League since its inception. I've seen this league evolve from an idea into a four team league, there were 27 teams within two years and eventually as many as 126 teams. During this time I have worked as Greivance Chair under three Presidents, Secretary on three different occaisions, Rules Committee Chairman, Treasurer for a short time, and as President for the last four years. I've seen the ups and downs, I've learned from some great Presidents and think I can understand the mistakes of the not-so-great.When I became President the WDL was down to 50 teams, awards were handed out in the form of vouchers with expiration dates, there was not very much promotion going on, and the administration was top heavy. Now there is growth, this past season we welcomed 69 teams.Also, with the help of the rest of the E-Board we were able to reinstute the Awards Banquet, which will run for the second year in a row on June 6, hopefully bigger and better than last year. Also with the cooperation of the E-Board we eliminated stipends to the E-Board and made the Secretary's pay contingent upon the number of teams. All steps towards making this a player's league.Although we no longer run the three-player tournaments, we've instituted two highly successful season openers. The league has added more prize money and as a result we have witnessed increased participation in the singles, doubles, and season finale.And how about the website? After seeing some of Jerry Buote's handiwork last season, we enlisted him to update our website. Things that were only dreamed of five years ago are now possible, and there is still room for us to utilize more of the marketing capabilities of the website and Facebook.All in all, I believe the league has made progress in my tenure. I hope you do too and I hope that you will cast your vote for me to continue as your President these next two years.I'll close with one word that I think describes the most important aspect of the Worcester Dart League when Paul O'Connell is President. ACCESSIBILITY. I will not shy away from criticism and I will never stop listening to your ideas. Thank you.

Jerry for Sec Election Bio Jerry Buote for SecretaryMay 8th 2010In the last several seasons I have learned a great deal about how the league functions and how I could best serve you, my fellow players, as your Agent of Change.In the last few seasons I have worked hard behind the scenes to improve the opportunities for the entire League to communicate and be heard!Some of those efforts include:We have debuted and are now benefiting from the use of the League Republic Stat system; all players can now see how they are shooting week to week.We have an organized website with timely coherent updates including Sponsor Pages, Links and Photo Galleries of our LODs, and events, not to mention the posting of Non-League sanctioned events.We have a Facebook Page, complete with Discussion Pages and Photo Galleries. Any member is welcome to express their opinions and suggestions there.A form for Jackets and Awards has been created and will be included in each Captains Kit Packet each season to speed up and clarify the end of Season awards process.I put forward the motion for the Board Certification Team, which thankfully, all present at the last General Meeting felt was a good thing to do.I feel I can be effective and work with each of you the players, the Sponsors, the other dart organizations and Corporate Sponsors in a highly professional and effect manner.One of the things I would like to see happen right away is the adoption of more frequent General Meetings. Also I will pursue the E-board to meet on a monthly basis to review the state and issues at hand.On my watch you can be sure any issues regarding the WDL will be handled in a professional and timely manner. If you ask a question I cant immediately answer I will let you know that, and seek the advice of the rules, and the other E-board members before advising you further.I am grateful for the response from many regarding my dual nominations and I assure you this is the correct role for me to tackle at this time, both personally and for the betterment of the League.Thank You and I look forward to the Tasks and Challenges ahead as a player and your Agent of ChangeJerry

We'd like to congratulate the eventual winners and all who participated in our season opening Luck of the Draw at the Worcester Eagles. Out of 27 teams the eventual winners were: Sean Gallivan and Wayne Burke Jr. Second place: Ron Noel Sr. and Scott Donham. Third place (tie): Tim Noel and Bobby Laudon, Ray Rivers and... Rhino Gildemeister.

Exciting to the end! Ray Rivers and Mike Prescott came out of the loser's bracket to beat Ron Noel and Rob Smith in a finale that went the distance. I LOVE the Worcester Dart League. 80, that's right, 80 shooters for last night's Luck of the Draw at Creegan's. Incredible turnout, we needed to move some games across the street, the place was so crowded. That is the biggest turnout I have ever seen for a local tournament. Thank you one and all. Thank's Creegans and Tara for having the tournament. And the bartenders for a job well done! Congratulations to... Mark Cronin and Dan Bain, who took 1st and Tim O'Day and Jerry Buote, who took 2nd.
